The Residence at 34777 Via Josefina

Rancho Mirage Luxury Home Care

A residence, not a facility. Six suites instead of sixty. Care delivered the way it should be — quietly, beautifully, and one person at a time.

If you've toured Atria, Brookdale, Bayshire and felt something missing — this is what was missing.

The difference

Three months of touring assisted living and every brochure starts to look the same.

Then you walk into a real home. Not a wing. Not a unit. Not a memory care floor. A home. Six private suites. The same caregivers every day. A chef. A registered nurse on staff.

If they need care now, it should be the place they would have chosen if they could still choose.

Why we exist

The most important years of someone's life should not be spent in a hallway.

Most assisted living in the Coachella Valley happens inside buildings with 80, 100, sometimes 150 residents. Long corridors. Shared dining rooms that seat sixty. Care staff who, through no fault of their own, are responsible for fifteen people at once.

We built something different.

Rancho Mirage Luxury Home Care is a single private estate, home to no more than six residents, with three caregivers on shift at any given hour. Meals are cooked in the kitchen. Conversations happen on the patio. Care is personal because it has to be — there's nowhere for it to hide.

The difference is structural

Two models. One choice.

Chapter I

The Residence

Thirty-Four Thousand, Seven Hundred Seventy-Seven

34777 Via Josefina, Rancho Mirage.

  • 7 Bedrooms
  • 6 Bathrooms
  • 4,280 sq ft
  • Private Pool
  • Mountain Views

The seventh bedroom is reserved for our caregivers and care office, so the home stays a home.

A walled, single-story estate on a quiet street five minutes from El Paseo and ten from Eisenhower Medical Center. Each resident has their own private bedroom — most with an en-suite bath — finished with the care you'd put into a home you owned, not a room you rented.

Outside: a private pool surrounded by mature landscaping, covered patios, and uninterrupted views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Inside: a great room, a dedicated dining room, a chef's kitchen — and quiet, sunlit corners for reading, visiting, or simply being still.

In-house hospitality

Meals prepared in a chef's kitchen, served when the resident is ready.

The same kitchen one would expect in a private home — not a cafeteria. The kind of detail that makes the whole experience feel less like care, more like living.

This is where your mother lives now. Or your father. Or you.

Our approach

Care that meets each resident where they are.

01.

The 1:3 Ratio

Three caregivers on shift for six residents — at every hour, awake, trained, and present. That ratio is the entire reason this model works. It's not a marketing number; it's structural.

02.

Personal, Non-Medical Care

Assistance with the activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, medication reminders, mobility, meals, and the hundred small things that make a day livable. Delivered with discretion and without rush.

03.

A Real Life, Continued

Residents keep their routines. Coffee on the patio. A morning walk. A nap when they want one. Family for dinner. We adjust to them — never the reverse.

What we don't do: We're a non-medical RCFE. We don't provide skilled nursing, dialysis, or hospice care directly — but we coordinate seamlessly with hospice partners and home health providers when a resident's needs evolve. Most residents who come to us stay with us.

Chapter II

A day in the life

What an ordinary Tuesday looks like.

Morning. 07:00 — 11:00

Margaret wakes around 7. Her caregiver knocks, opens the blinds, and asks how she slept. Breakfast is on the patio — eggs the way she likes them, the paper, and the dog from next door who comes by to say hello most mornings. By 9 she's read three sections and decided whether today is a swim day or a sit-and-read day.

The afternoon is the longest stretch.
Nothing is scheduled. Everything is
available — if a resident wants it.

The great room — vaulted beamed ceiling, fireplace, and French doors opening to the pool and mountains beyond
Afternoon. 11:00 — 17:00

The afternoon is hers. Some residents nap. Some have visitors. Some sit in the great room with a book. Lunch is whenever they're ready — at the dining room table, on the patio, or in their room if that's where they want to be that day. There's no schedule we're enforcing. There's a rhythm we're protecting.

Evening. 17:00 — late

Dinner is served family-style at the dining room table for those who want company, or in private for those who don't. After dinner: a movie in the great room, a game of cards, a phone call with a grandchild, a quiet hour on the patio as the mountains turn pink. By 9, the house begins to settle. The night caregiver is awake, and so are we.

For adult children

You've been carrying this for a while.

If you're the one researching, you already know how this works. You've toured the big places. You've sat in their lobbies. You've watched your mom or dad get quoted a "starting price" that climbs every quarter, and you've left wondering if there's something in between staying home with private caregivers and moving into a 120-bed building.

There is. It's a private estate in Rancho Mirage with six suites, the same two caregivers every day, a chef, and a registered nurse on staff. This is not a wing. It is a home.

$15,000 to $22,000 a month here gets you a private suite with an ensuite bath, meals cooked in the home kitchen, and care that is personal, not procedural.

When you come for a tour, you'll meet the caregivers, see the room your parent would live in, and eat lunch if you want to. We'll tell you exactly what we charge, exactly what's included, and whether we're the right fit for your family. If we're not, we'll point you toward who is.

For the person moving in

This is your home now.

If you're reading this — or if your daughter is reading it to you — we want you to know something.

You are not moving into a facility. You are moving into a house. There are six of you, and you each have your own room, and we cook in a kitchen, and there is a pool, and there are mountains out the window. The people who help you are people, not a rotating staff of strangers. They know how you take your coffee by week two.

Bring your photos. Bring your books. Bring the chair you like to read in. We have room.

Questions families ask

What you're probably wondering.

What does it cost?

We don't publish pricing because the right answer depends on the level of care your loved one needs, which room they choose, and whether they're a permanent resident or short-term respite. We share full pricing on the private tour or by phone — and we tell you the total, not a starting rate that climbs.

Are you licensed?

Our RCFE license is pending with the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division. We'll display our license number publicly the moment it's issued. Until then, we're happy to walk you through exactly where we are in the process.

What level of care do you provide?

We're a non-medical Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE), licensed to provide assistance with the activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, mobility, medication reminders, meals, and personal care. We don't provide skilled nursing or hospice care directly, but we coordinate with hospice partners and home health providers when a resident's needs evolve, so most residents can stay with us through the end of their lives.

How is this different from in-home care?

In-home care brings a caregiver to your house for a set number of hours. We provide 24/7 awake care in a residential setting at a 1:3 ratio — which usually costs less than full-time in-home care once you add up nights and weekends, and includes meals, housekeeping, and a community of peers.

Can family visit anytime?

Yes. This is your loved one's home. There are no visiting hours.

Can my parent bring their own furniture?

We encourage it. Rooms come unfurnished by default — bring the bed they sleep best in, the chair they read in, and the photos they want on the wall.

What happens if my parent's needs increase?

We assess every resident regularly and adjust care as needed. If a resident eventually requires skilled nursing or memory care beyond our RCFE scope, we help the family find the right next step. Most of our residents remain with us through hospice.

Who owns and operates the home?

Rancho Mirage Luxury Home Care is locally owned and operated. You'll meet the owner on your tour — not a regional sales director.
