Why This House Exists
A tribute to Harriet.
Rick cared for his wife, Harriet, at home. He has never described it as a burden. He calls it a privilege, and he says he was blessed to have a phenomenal caregiver beside him while he did it.
That caregiver was Daisy. The two of them worked together for six years. Somewhere inside those six years they started to talk about how much good the same arrangement could do for other families, and that conversation is the entire reason this house exists.
Not a business plan. A secure, home-like environment that reduces the real dangers of falling and isolation, and gives residents and their families peace of mind.
Owner
Meet Rick Cortez.
Rick spent six years learning what good care actually looks like, from the inside, in his own house. He learned which details matter and which ones only look like they do.
He owns the estate on Via Josefina and he lives on the property. On a tour, he is the person who meets you. Not a regional director, not a sales office. The man whose name is on the license.
"When attention to detail matters."
Administrator and Co-Owner
Meet Daisy Wain.
Daisy is the caregiver who helped Rick look after Harriet. Six years of it, in a real house, with a real family. She now runs this one.
Before anyone moves in, Daisy sits down face to face with the resident and the family and completes a preadmission assessment. She looks at what the resident can still do on their own, how they are doing, and what their life actually looks like day to day. That conversation is how care here gets built, one person at a time, rather than assigned from a menu.
